It means England’s elite clubs might have to start preparing for life without certain players.

Alexis Sanchez (Manchester United)
Sanchez has failed to live up to expectations since joining United from Arsenal in January 2018. The Chile forward has scored just two goals this season and struggled for playing time under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
His £500,000-a-week wages mean he will be hard to shift, but reports in Italy say Juventus would be prepared to take a chance on Sanchez if he takes a pay cut.
With United understood to be prioritising a winger in the summer transfer window, any potential arrival would push the 30-year-old further down the pecking order.

Fred (Manchester United)
Fred was being eyed by Premier League champions Manchester City before joining United last summer – and based on this season’s performances – it’s hard to see why.
Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay have been used ahead of the £52million man by Solskjaer. With four years left on his contract, a loan move away could be the most realistic option for the Brazilian.

Fred could be on the move this summer
Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)
Even though he has been forcing his way back into Unai Emery’s side in recent weeks, Ozil’s Arsenal future remains uncertain.
His form and availability have significantly dropped since signing a new £350,000-a-week deal last year.
And reports claim Emery is prepared to move Ozil on to free up funds for incoming transfers this summer. It could also allow Ozil to reignite his career elsewhere.

Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal)
Elneny has made just four Premier League appearances under Emery this season and did not even make the matchday squad for both legs of their Europa League last-16 triumph over Rennes earlier this month.
One of Arsene Wenger’s last acts as Arsenal manager was to hand Elneny a new contract until 2022, but the Egypt midfielder might need to reconsider his future this summer.

Divock Origi (Liverpool)
Despite deputising for the injured Roberto Firmino against Watford and Everton recently, Origi is unlikely to ever nail down a regular starting place under Jurgen Klopp.
Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have restricted Origi’s playing time this season.
A summer move, maybe to a mid-table Premier League club, would do him the world of good.

Simon Mignolet (Liverpool)
Liverpool’s third-round exits in both domestic cup competitions have seen Mignolet play just twice for the club this season.
Alisson has featured in every minute of Liverpool’s 31 Premier League games since signing in a £67million deal from Roma last summer.
And his impressive form could force Mignolet to end his six-year affiliation with the Reds.

Vincent Janssen (Tottenham)
Janssen’s Tottenham days are clearly numbered. He is yet to make a single appearance for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season and his only playing time since his return from injury has come with the Under-23s team.
He was linked with moves to Crystal Palace and Cardiff in the January transfer window, but a move abroad seems the most likely option when the transfer window reopens.

Vincent Janssen has only played for Tottenham’s Under-23s side this season
Victor Wanyama (Tottenham)
After featuring heavily in his 2016/17 debut season with Tottenham, various injuries have affected his first-team chances.
The Kenya midfielder has started just two league games this term and is behind Harry Winks, Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko in the pecking order.
If Wanyama was to leave Spurs, he would not be short of suitors.

It is hard to believe that Drinkwater, a Premier League title winner with Leicester only three seasons ago, has not played a second of competitive football in the 2018/19 campaign.
Bought for £35million in 2017, the 29-year-old has been an expensive flop.
Despite his lack of game-time, Drinkwater does not seem to be in any hurry to push for a move.
In December, when asked about the England midfielder’s future, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri said: “I don’t know. It depends on the club, it’s up to him.â€

Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea)
Chelsea’s two-window transfer ban could affect what they do with their young players next season.
Renowned for sending their young stars on loan across the country, Ampadu could do with a temporary move away from Stamford Bridge.
At the age of 18, he has won six caps for Wales and is highly-rated by Dragons boss Ryan Giggs.

Manchester City’s No.2 goalkeeper Bravo was on the bench for the club’s first two games of the season before suffering a serious achilles tendon injury.
In his absence, 20-year-old stopper Arijanet Muric impressed in City’s run to the Carabao Cup final, including two penalty shootout saves in their quarter-final win over Leicester.
Muric’s form could see Pep Guardiola part ways with Bravo, who has just one year left on his contract.

Phil Foden (Manchester City)
This would only be a loan move after the youngster signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal in December. City’s array of talent in midfield has seen the 18-year-old start just seven times this season.
A full season, playing regular football would be hugely beneficial to the England Under-21 international.
