Daniele De Rossi and other football legends who played for one club, including Tony Adams, Ryan Giggs and Jamie Carragher

Daniele De Rossi will bring the curtain down on his 18-year Roma career at the end of the Serie A season.

The 35-year-old midfielder made his Giallorossi debut under manager Fabio Capello in October 2001 and has played 615 times for the club, scoring 63 goals.

During that time he rejected tempting offers to leave, including from Manchester City, and club president Jim Pallotta has heaped praise on the midfielder ahead of his departure.

He said: “For 18 years, Daniele has been the beating heart of Roma’s team,” club president Pallotta said.

“From his debut in 2001 to taking on the responsibility of the captain’s armband, he always represented the Roma fans on the pitch with pride as he established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe.

But which other big names in football have spent their entire career at one club? talkSPORT.com looks at 10 other football legends, who were – and still are – as loyal as they come.

The legendary defender was virtually unbeatable and he was still a beast of a player at 40 years old and in his 25th season with the Rossoneri.

Glasgow-born Gray broke into the Leeds team at just 17 years old and scored twice on his debut in 1966. The trickster dazzled on the wing and left many defenders’ heads spinning, while he also scored two of the club’s finest goals, both against Burnley in 1970. On top of the skill and goals that delighted the Elland Road faithful, Gray won two league titles, an FA Cup, the Fairs Cup and a League Cup in 577 games for the Whites. He later served as manager.
