Ipswich Town 1-1 Birmingham City

Ipswich’s long-expected relegation was confirmed with a 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham.

Lukas Jutkiewicz scored six minutes in for Blues and, although Gwion Edwards equalised for Town, they could not get the goal they needed to keep their season, and their run of 17 straight seasons in the second tier, alive.

Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull City

Britt Assombalonga scored the only goal of the game to move within a point of the play-off places.

Nottingham Forest 1-2 Blackburn Rovers

Martin O’Neill continues to find life at Nottingham Forest hard as they lost 2-1 at home to Blackburn.

Joe Rothwell (29) and Danny Graham (49) put Rovers comfortably ahead, before Elliott Bennett’s own goal give Forest a lifeline they were unable to take.

Queens Park Rangers 4-0 Swansea City

QPR gave their fans something to cheer by beating Swansea 4-0 in a shock result.

Darnell Furlong and Tomer Hemed had them two goals up inside five minutes, with Hemed again and Mass Luongo adding further efforts.

Reading 2-1 Brentford

A brace from Yakou Meite helped Reading ease their drop fears as they beat Brentford 2-1, Neal Maupay netting for the Bees.

Sheffield United 1-1 Millwall

Gary Madine’s goal set the Blades on their way and fortune seemed to be on the their when Ben Marshall hit the bar with a late penalty, given for John Egan’s handball which earned him a red card.

However, there was still time for Jake Cooper to score a leveller in a 1-1 draw for the Lions, meaning United lead Leeds by goal difference only and with a game less to play.

Stoke City 2-2 Rotherham United

Rotherham remain in the bottom three, but they closed the gap on Wigan, who host leaders Norwich on Sunday, to a point thanks to a 2-2 draw at Stoke.

Sam Vokes and Sam Clucas scored inside three first-half minutes for Stoke before Will Vaulks and Matt Crooks replied for the Millers.

West Bromwich Albion 4-1 Preston North End

West Brom remain on the fringes of the top three, despite their recent inconsistencies, beating Preston 4-0 thanks to a Dwight Gayle treble and a strike from Jay Rodriquez.

Leeds United 1-0 Sheffield United

Jack Harrison hit the winner as Leeds beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 to open up a three-point cushion on Sheffield United in the race for the Premier League.

Harrison produced a deadly finish in the 65th minute to finally break the deadlock after Wednesday had frustrated their Yorkshire rivals.

The Whites had been denied by two wonder saves from visiting goalkeeper Keiren Westwood during a dominant first half.

United were also left counting the cost of some wayward finishing, with Patrick Bamford in particular having an off-day.

But the relentless pressure finally paid off when Harrison fired home.

But now that he's out of management for a bit, Mourinho has been using his platform as a pundit to hit back at the likes of Scholes and Gary Neville. Mourinho recently treated himself to a thinly veiled dig at the Red Devils legends after Scholes left his position as Oldham Athletic manager just a month into the job.
