Manchester City legend Yaya Toure says his former boss Pep Guardiola has turned Raheem Sterling into the ‘complete’ player at the Etihad.
Sterling is in prime position to land the Player of the Year award after starring for club and country this season, registering 19 goals and 16 assists along the way as City bid to win a quadruple.

And speaking to the Mirror, the former City midfielder has hailed his ‘little brother’ for his outstanding form, while recognising the role Guardiola has played in his transformation.
He said: “Pep is the type of guy who can take a talent and get it to its maximum level. He is a top manager.

“Raheem, my little brother, joined when Pellegrini was at the club. Since Pep arrived Raheem is in another world. He is complete.
“Pep has given him the confidence he has needed. When he played for Liverpool I was always scared of him because he is short and so fast, so quick!
“Him and Suarez and Coutinho? They were unplayable.”

While Toure always knew Sterling was a big talent, he had reservations over whether he could be a success in Manchester after enduring tough times at the club when first arrived from Liverpool in June 2015.
He added: “When he first arrived at City I had to ask myself whether it was the right choice for him because he was struggling a lot.
“He had a lot of criticism and it was hard for him.

“But he continued to work and now he deserves the Player of the Year.
“Pep came and improved him and [Sergio] Aguero, [Kevin] De Bruyne, [Kyle] Walker – who was already a good player but became different class.
